Morocco eyes Kuwait investments in tourism
Kuwait-Morocco, Economics, 3/7/2005
Morocco hopes to attract Kuwaiti investments to its tourism sector part of its plan that aims to attract 10 million tourists to the north African country by 2010.
Tourism was among the main issues raised with Kuwaiti officials by a Moroccan delegation, led by Prime Minister Driss Jettou, that is currently on an official visit to the Gulf country.
Tourism, Crafts and Social economy Minister, Adil Douiri said talks with Kuwaiti officials on tourism, dealt in particular with investment projects run by the Moroccan-Kuwait development company.
"We hope the company will participate in the implementation of other projects including the resort of Taghazoute and other resorts that will be built part of 2010 plan," he said.
The Moroccan premier was received Sunday by the Emir of Kuwait, Cheikh Jaber Al Ahmed Al Sabah, in an audience that was attended by Kuwaiti crown prince, Cheikh S‰ad Al Abdallah Al Salem Al Sabah, and president of the Ministers Council, Cheikh Sabah Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah.
In a statement to the press, Jettou said Kuwait has always "supported Morocco in development sectors, notably in investments directed to infrastructures."
The visit to Kuwait, he said, is an occasion to "exchange views on important issues, and to consolidate the distinguished relations between Morocco and Kuwait."
