Four American soldiers killed in Iraq, Bush regrets wounding of Italian journalist
Iraq, Military, 3/5/2005

Four American soldiers were killed in al-Anbar governorate to the west of Baghdad on Friday evening where the American army is carrying out continued military operation since two weeks to eliminate gunmen.

In a statement today, the American army said that the soldiers were killed during "operations to keep security and stability in the governorate." The statement gave no details on the implications and conditions of the killing.

This, however, came a short time following the announcement made by the Bulgarian ministry of defense that one of its soldiers were killed following clashes with gunmen in al-Dewaneyah city in the downtown of Baghdad.
