Lebanese sources: booby-trapped car is behind Hariri incident
Lebanon, Politics, 3/5/2005

" Lebanese judicial sources on Friday said that a booby-trapped car was likely behind Beirut blast which led to death of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafic Hariri," Lebanese National Agency said Friday.

"When the car slowed down to let Hariri's convoy pass, it exploded, " the agency quoted the sources as saying about the suspect, who claimed responsibility for that awful crime.

The Lebanese sources estimated the amount of the explosives used in the blast was around 350 kilograms but its kind and real amount will be determined by Swiss experts due to be in Lebanon next Saturday and Sunday to join the international investigators team.

They also pointed out that next week the Lebanese Judiciary will present a vision of how the real explosion took place in addition to the identity of the assassin who would likely be Abu Addas.
