Israeli delegation visits Libya to discuss compensations for Jews

The Israeli daily Jerusalem Post said on Thursday that the official in the World Organization for Libyan Jews, Ramy Kahloun, will visit Libya within the two coming months on top of a delegation including between 15 to 20 Israelis of Libyan origin so that it is for the first time Israelis get into Libya.

The paper said that Kahloun tried in 2004 to get an invitation to visit Tripoli in order to discuss the question of compensating for the Jews over their "properties" in Libya.

The paper quoted one Israeli official of Libyan origin that one Libyan official visited Israel in secret in order to prepare for a certain diplomatic matter. The paper indicated that it seemed that the visit pertinent for preparation to the visit of the Israeli delegation to Tripoli. It said that more than 30,000 Jews left Libya for Israel.
