Turkish statement voicing support for Syria

Spokesman of the Turkish Orient Conference Association, Prof. Mohammed Bakkar Oglu has underlined that the aim of his association campaign is to express solidarity with the Syrian people against the foreign pressure.

In a statement to SANA, Oglu said that the campaign in which non-governmental organizations have been participating, was launched from Ankara to Damascus and then to Aleppo to express the support of the Turkish people to the Syrian people. Representative of the Right and Labour Union in Turkey, Yousuf Envin who is also taking part in the campaign said in a similar statement that the US pressure has been going on in the region particularly following the invasion of Afghanistan and the occupation of Iraq, and now the US. pressure is being exercised on Syria and Iraq, a thing which is unacceptable to the Turkish people.
