Ten persons killed in an explosion in Iraq

Ten soldiers in the Iraqi national guards were killed and other scores were injured in explosions of two booby trapped cars in Baghdad on Wednesday.

The first explosion hit a base for the Iraqi army in the downtown of Baghdad and this resulted in killing 6 of these forces and injuring other 25 others most of them are soldiers.

The explosion of the second booby trapped car came few hours at a military check point in al-Jadereyah area to the south of Baghdad and this resulted in killing four soldiers and injuring other 6, according to military sources.

The two explosions came following a similar explosion in al-Hella town resulted in killing 125 persons.

The interim Iraqi prime minister whose term of office has expired issued a decision for providing urgent aids to the relatives of the victims of Hella attack and to make Wednesday a national mourning day in all parts of Iraq. The Muslim Scholars Commission in Iraq deplored the explosion which claimed the lives of scores of civilians and held terrorist acts which kill innocents as taboos.

In al-Anbar governorate, conditions are still tense in several cities in the governorate which is situated to the west of Iraq.

In Haditha city, the American armored vehicles broke into al-Refai quarters to the west of the city. Two sedan cars were exposed to fire by the American forces with continued acts of breaking in and detentions.

In Hait, American snipers were deployed in the western quarters of the city and breaking in and inspection operations were carried out.
