UAE paper denounces Israeli threats against Syria

UAE newspaper ' al-Bayan' on Tuesday said Israeli military threats launched by Ariel Sharon of Israel against Syria reflect his real desire for increasing tension in the region. "Sharon's threats prove his intention to evade commitment to the international resolutions and foil all efforts being exerted to push the peace process in the Middle East forward," the daily said in its editorial.
The newspaper also called upon active international powers to practice pressure on Israel and compel it to stop its aggressive acts and to commit itself to peace requirements.
