Syria to raise per capita real income, economist

Senior Syrian economic official said on Tuesday efforts are exerted to find solutions as to raise Syrians standard living by increasing incomes and improving services quality and quantity.
"We will work to create the adequate atmospheres as to allow the Syrians take the initative in saving and investment while the state will incline to invest in main infrastructure projects to build a new economic system," Minister of Economy and Trade Amer Hosni Lutfi said at the opening the cooperative consumerism societies seminar on the 34th anniversary for Arab cooperation.
He noted the Syrian economy is heading to be more effective and productive under the state supervision that plays a new and growing role in the economic development.
"We are gradually developing our economy .. to the market economy that includes more of freedom and personal initiative from persons and the government. We will build a strong and merged economy into the world economy," he said.
The Arab cooperation day is an anniversary ratified by the Arab League in the seventies and Syria is the only Arab state that is still remembering this feast annually.
