Eric Campton, Ana Sanchez won Hassan II Golf Trophy

American Erik Compton and Spanish Ana Belem Sanchez are the winners of the 33rd edition of Hassan II Golf Trophy for men and for women, organized in Rabat.

The Hassan II Golf Trophy award ceremony was chaired by Prince Moulay Rachid (younger brother of King Mohammed VI). The tournament was organized from February 24 to 27 in Dar Es-salam courses.

During the four-day competition on the Red Fairways, the American Erik Campton prevailed as the dominant figure with 15 strokes under the par (71"69"69"68), i.e. a comfortable (-10 strokes) away from the runner-up Portuguese Philippe Lima.

Triple champion of the trophy Santiago Luna came third with 285 strokes (-7) along with French Gregory Havret and Gregory Bourdy, while Moroccan golfer, Younes El-Hassani came eighth with 287 strokes (-5).

On the Blue Fairways, the 12th edition of Princess Lalla Meryem cup went to the Spanish Ana Belem Sanchez, who won in the playoff against the English Rebecca Hudson after they finished off their three-day competition with 223 strokes ("4).

The French Virgine Auffret came third with 227 strokes ("8), while Moroccan golfer Mounya Amalou Sayeh finished off 11th with 240 strokes ("21).

The Pro-Am event, a team competition that includes one professional and three amateurs was won in the Net category by the Moroccan team composed of Youssef and Othmane Lyazidi and Rachid Belmokhtar. Pro-Am event in the Brut category went to the team of Charles and Hervˇ Quelin and Mamoun Bennani.

Feminine Pro-Am event was won in the Net by Laetitia Banzet, Stˇphanie Ohr and Ito Nejjai, and in the Brut by Maha Haddioui, Maire Laure Devaux and Nadia Mourine.
