Amal Movement: relations with Syria are principled

Deputy Head of the political bureau in Lebanese Amal Movement Nseb Hutet stressed Friday that Lebanon's relation with Syria is a principled and considered one of the firm principles that Lebanon is committed to in facing the Israeli objectives in the region as well as the foreign pressures and challenges.

"Historic and strategic relation with Syria constitutes a guarantee for Lebanon's stability," Hutet said in a statement, underlining that canceling the Lebanese elections under any pretext is a first step for bringing gradually a foreign mandate.

He also called for ending wrangles and accusations against Syria and Lebanon saying that this will serve enemies of our country.

Meanwhile, Amal Movement stressed, during a meeting today, that all current pressures upon Lebanon are destabilize the region with the aim of weakening steadfastness positions represented by Syria.

"Those who are marketing for motives behind the UN Security Council resolution no. 1559, are betting on a foreign wind," the movement said in a statement.

Amal Movement also underlined that Syria has been committed to the international resolutions on the basis of the just and comprehensive peace and land-for-peace formula.
