20 Iraqi policemen, 2 American soldiers killed

Two American soldiers were killed and other two injured in two explosions that targeted two American military convoys to the north of Baghdad on Thursday.
In two separate statements, the American army said that one of its soldiers was killed in Deyali governorate while the other was killed in an attack in Sameraa city.
Meantime, 20 members of the Iraqi security and army forces were killed in a series of attacks to the north and south of Baghdad on Thursday. The most violent attacks took place in Tikrit when a booby trapped car targeted Salah Eddine police directorate and this resulted in killing 10 police members and injuring other 35.
Police sources said that one suicide attacker wearing police customs broke by his car into the garage allocated for Iraqis recruited in the emergency police directorate while they were gathering inside the garage for the morning meeting.
Three members of the emergency police were killed in Karkouk city and other 7 injured in a bomb explosion that targeted their car.
In al-Dalou'eya area the headquarters of the Iraqi national guards was bombarded by five mortars on Thursday early morning and this resulted in killing two soldiers and injuring another member of the Iraqi army.
The Iraqi police also found three bodies in an irrigation channel in al-Farhateyah to the north of Baghdad, two of them are members in the Iraqi army and the third is an unidentified. Medical sources said that the death results from being hit by bullets.
In Alexandria area to the south of Baghdad, two Iraqi policemen were killed and other seven injured including two civilians as a result of a booby trapped car explosion.
