Egypt-Palestine, Politics, 2/25/2005
The Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak called for providing "necessary support for the new Palestinian government and called on the USA and Europe to fulfill their obligations for the sake of peace through "a move on the ground."
The official spokesman for the Egyptian presidency said that Mubarak made this statement during a meeting with the Belgian foreign minister and stressed the need of investing positive signals concluded by the European- American summit in this regard.
The Egyptian spokesman explained that the move on the ground means providing political support for the peace process, and economic support and necessary aids for the Palestinian authority and improving daily living conditions for the Palestinian people.
Bush, however, had announced in Brussels that the USA and Europe have made an oath not to stay standstill "at a time when a new generation in the holy lands is growing in atmospheres of violence and depression," as he stated.
