22 Iraqis, 2 Americans killed

One American soldier was killed in a bomb explosion that targeted a military convoy near al-Touz area to the north of Baghdad on Wednesday. A statement by the American army said that the explosion also resulted in injuring two Iraqi civilians while they were walking near the place.

Earlier, the American army announced also on Wednesday the killing of one Marines in a " traffic accident" during which was described as a security mission in al-Anbar governorate to the west of Baghdad on Tuesday.

Meantime, six Iraqis were killed and 11 injured in American bombardment of two houses in al-Aqlaneyah area near Hait in al-Anbar governorate, while American forces are still besieging for the second day and blocking its main entrances.

A queued convoys of American tanks and armored vehicles which besiege al-Haqlaneyah was exposed to an ambush which was detonated on Wednesday in which gunmen used missile shelling and explosives. The American forces retaliated to the attack by heavy artillery and tank shelling but no information were reported on the volume of losses.

Two persons were killed and other 14 injured in a booby trapped car explosion that targeted one American vehicle in Musil city to the north of Iraq on Wednesday. No information were reported on casualties in the lines of the American forces.

Meantime, five Iraqis were killed including one policeman in different attacks launched by gunmen in Karkouk city and its quarters to the north of Baghdad.

One Iraqi soldier was killed and one police man injured in an attack by mortars shelling that targeted the headquarters of the Iraqi forces in al-Dalouya to the north of Baghdad where two Iraqi soldiers were killed in similar bombardment against the American and Iraqi forces in al-Tareneyah.

One Iraqi contractor was killed yesterday morning in an armed attack near Suleiman Beck near al-Touz to the north of Baghdad. The Iraqi police on Wednesday found near al-Hajjaj area to the north of the capital two bodies for one Iraqi civilian and one soldier. The body of one policeman was found after he was shot in al-Sherqat area near Musil.
