Peterlan: Syria chose peace as strategic option
Syria-France, Politics, 2/22/2005
Chairman of the Arab-French Solidarity Society Lucien Peterlan on Monday said Syria has adopted peace as a strategic option and has always called for the resumption of peace negotiations in line with international law.
In a statement issued in Paris, Peterlan pointed out that pressures put on Syria aim at protecting Israel, settling the Palestinians in Lebanon, and evading the implementation of the UN resolution No. 194. Peterlan condemned the assassination of former Lebanese Premier Rafic Hariri, asserting that this crime targets Syria and Lebanon.
