Syria's position on Lebanon outlined by Arab League chief

The secretary general of the Arab League, Amr Moussa, said that the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad showed great interest in making a rapid investigation to disclose who was behind Hariri's assassination.
Moussa stressed following his meeting with President al-Assad that Damascus is committed to achieving withdrawal from Lebanon, according to the Taif accord.
He added that the "issue of Taif accord and the withdrawal is set and is part of the Syrian policy and this will be materialized in measures to be taken very soon."
The Taif document for national reconciliation ( 1989) stated to redeploy the Syrian forces in the Bekaa area to the east of Lebanon. Points of redeployment will be agreed and a schedule for complete withdrawal.
