King's visit to Gabon highlighted by several media and officials

The visit Morocco's King Mohammed VI is paying as of this Monday to Gabon is important at the political level, which confirms once again, the exceptional relations existing between the two countries, Gabonese media stories commented over the weekend.

"L'Union" daily said the visit of the Moroccan sovereign "is a new example of the exceptional quality of the relations between Libreville and Rabat, on one hand, and between the leaders of the two countries, on the other."

The daily ran articles on various aspects of the two countries' cooperation and the resolve of their leaders to enhance economic ties to upgrade them to the level of the political and friendly relation linking the two countries.

The newspaper dealt with the bilateral agreements signed lat June in Libreville on the occasion of the latest visit of the monarch to the Central African country, adding the current visit is an opportunity to set a strategic partnership for economic development . The visit of Gabonese Prime minister Jean-Franois Ntoutoume Emane to Morocco last week helped to consider means to energise the various agreements signed by the two countries, l'Union said. "Le Temps" quarterly magazine said the monarch's visit to Gabon will be marked by the signing of new agreements on the consolidation of cooperation and partnership in social and economic fields.

In Rabat, Gabonese ambassador to Morocco Francois Banga Eboumi, said, on the sovereign's visit to his country, it is evidence of the excellence and sound friendship relations between Morocco and Gabon.

Eboumi told the Morocco News agency MAP, over the weekend, the visit, which is made eight months after the one the King paid to Gabon last June, shows "South-South relations and relations between African nations are as important as those Africa has with North countries.

The ambassador said several Moroccan businessmen invested in Gabon reaping "promising results which are an example to others," calling on Moroccan businessmen to further invest in Gabon.

King Mohammed VI received, last Friday in Casablanca, Gabonese Premier, who held, during his visit to Morocco started last Wednesday, several meetings with Moroccan officials, focusing mainly on the consolidation of bilateral relations and economy cooperation.

At a working session Thursday with Moroccan Prime minister Driss Jettou, the two sides expressed determination to reinforce bilateral cooperation in industry, infrastructure, agriculture, housing, transports and telecommunications.

King Mohammed VI Starts this Monday a three-nation African tour, including Gabon, Senegal and Burkina Faso.

According to a release of the Ministry of the Royal Household, Protocol and Chancellery, the Moroccan sovereign is paying a "working and friendship visit" to Senegal and Gabon, and is to extend humanitarian assistance to the two countries in order to back their social development. He will also pay an official visit to Burkina Faso. Last June, the king paid an official visit to five African countries, namely Benin, Cameroon, Gabon, Niger and Senegal.
