Danish archbishop visits Kiftaro Academy
Syria-Denmark, Religion, 2/19/2005
Chief of Danish Archbishops, Eric Norman Sivins, and an accompanying delegation visited on Friday Sheikh Ahmadd Kiftaro Academy and listened to a review on the activities of the academy.
Rev. Sivins addressed the people at the academy by saying that the Danish want to transfer the Syrian expertise in the standing coexistence between Moslems and Christians because in Denmark they are in need to such an example in order to reach understanding between the Danish and the mostly Moslem immigrants who come to live in Denmark.
He added that the Danish knew that Christians and Moslems have been living for more than 1400 years in amity and respect.
He described such a coexistence in Syria as a source of inspiration, expressing pride for addressing Moslem gathering for the first time.
