Bakradoni calls for a national conference
Lebanon, Politics, 2/19/2005

Head of Lebanese al-Katayeb Party, Karim Bakradoni, stressed Friday that the late Lebanese ex-Prime Minister Rafic Hariri was always careful to develop the Syrian-Lebanese relations and the state's relation with the national resistance.

"He was really a man of state with an excellent degree who always worked in accordance with al-Taef Accord," Bakradoni said in a statement.

He called for a Lebanese national conference that brings together all Lebanese bodies, Lebanese President Emile Lahoud as well Secretary General of Hizbullah Hasan Nasrullah.

Meanwhile, both Lebanese Ministers of Tourism Farid al-Khazen, who resigned today, and Minister of the Public Work and Transport Yassen Jaber stressed that there is no alternative for the national dialogue which is based on al-Taef Accord in order to enhance the Lebanese national unity.

"The assassination crime aimed at hurting Lebanon on both economic and political levels as well as putting pressure upon Syria," Jaber said underlining that the government made all necessary procedures to protect the economic situation in the country.
