Continued moves of the Lebanese opposition

The reaction of the Lebanese government to appoint a new minister of tourism came after the announcement of the Lebanese opposition on Friday in its meeting following the assassination of Hariri the launching of what it called "the peaceful and democratic uprising for independence," in reaction to the "criminal policy conducted by the Syrian and Lebanese authority."

The Lebanese opposition renewed in a statement read by parliamentarian Samir Franjieh in the house of the Druz leader Walid Junblat its demands for the resignation of the current Lebanese authority, the formation of an interim Lebanese government, and an immediate withdrawal for the Syrian forces from Lebanon before the date of the elections in May this year.

It also called on the Lebanese people to organize sit-in and demonstrations until the executors of the Hariri assassination are punished, and also to observe a sit-in before the tomb of Hariri in the downtown of Beirut. It called on the Lebanese parliament and the international community to shoulder their responsibility.
