Rice warns Syria
Syria-USA, Politics, 2/19/2005
The US on Friday warned Syria it will be exposed to more sanctions if it will not help in investigations in the Hariri assassination.
The US secretary of state Condoleezza Rice said that the US wants to force Syria to change her policy. A matter which will help to remove threats of imposing sanctions. She explained "we hope Damascus will behave herself to eliminate the fears it raises."
But Rice tried, in conclusion of her meeting with her Dutch counterpart Bernard Baoth, to ease down her words saying that "Washington does not want to isolate Damascus internationally, rather to push Syria" to take part in a more responsible path. This includes Syria's participation in the investigation for what had happened to prime minister Hariri.
