NCHR reaffirms confidence in Egyptian judiciary over Nour case
Egypt, Politics, 2/15/2005
The Egyptian National Council for Human Rights reaffirmed confidence in the Egyptian judiciary over the case of immunity-stripped MP Ayman Nour, currently under investigative custody over charges of forging official documents for his newly-founded AL-Ghad (Tomorrow) party.
In a press statement yesterday, the NCHR said the case of Nour is now in the hands of a judiciary which will give its unbiased ruling.
The council has formed a committee comprising some of its members and held a meeting with the attorney general and the ministers of interior and justice.
The committee met also with Nour in Tora jail, where he is currently remanded pending investigation.
