Lebanese army announces state of alert

The Lebanese army announced the state of alert and vehicles and inspection points were made after the killing of the former Lebanese prime minister Rafic Hariri in a booby trapped car explosion in Beirut on Monday.
Groups, with each composed of four military cars were deployed in the almost empty streets of Beirut where trade centers and shops were closed marking the beginning of official mourning for Hariri for three days.
The Lebanese government chaired by Omar Karami decided following an emergency session held following the assassination to announce a three day mourning and to submit Hariri's assassination issue to the judiciary.
