Egypt-Comoros, Economics, 2/14/2005

Egypt confirmed yesterday that it is ready to make an effort at all forms; technical, scientific and training one to support the Arab states in order to further joint Arab interests.

Minister of Electricity Hassan Younis made this statement during talks with his Comoros counterpart, adding that they are working hard to ensure Egypt's electrical products and supplies have their proper place in the Arab markets.

Meanwhile, the Comoros official praised Egypt's electricity sector for its projects to improve the electricity-generating system, with units and other equipment provided by the Misr el- Wosta Electricity Company at a cost of $2.2 million.

He added that they had concluded a deal with an Egyptian company to provide 10.000 electric meters for the Comoros Islands. Minister Younis said that the contract comes in the light of efforts to promote exports by the electricity sector.
