Statement by the public prosecution regarding MP Ayman Nour and others

An Egyptian government report on the prosecution of Ayman Nour, of al-Ghad party, said: The General Prosecution, being always keen to announce the truth to the public opinion, as deemed, the only honest party of the public suing process, saw that it is necessary to declare the following facts:
Charges under inquiry with the MP Ayman Nour constitute crimes that must be penalized by the law, as enlisted by the Egyptian law.
The Prosecution charged him of forging governmental signets and official papers such as the special proxies of Al-Ghad (Future) Party which he introduced to the parties committee in Shura Council to secure license of establishing his party plus his pre-knowledge of the forging actions.
The Prosecution did not include any political crimes in its statements.
The running interrogation did not tackle any way the idea of setting up or the continuity of Al-Ghad Party, as it is still working according to its own institutional system.
The Public Prosecutor entrusted the Supreme State Security Prosecution to deal with this case because it has the wide scale responsibility around the republic.
Investigations comprised a number of the notarization offices related to the Notarization Department in the governorates, for this will warrant the unity of investigations and the rapid achievement under the auspices of the Public Prosecutor.
Provisions of the constitution and law were put under implementation during procedures of eliminating the parliamentary immunity of Ayman Nour and no exceptional procedures have been taken.
The Prosecution provided all warrants for the accused MP as the duration of the provisional detention was 4 days and the re-detention measure was issued by the responsible judge in the attendance of Nour's seven lawyers in all phases of investigation.
Procedures of arrest were authorized by the Public Prosecution. A number of 1187 fake proxies of total 2005 were seized from Al-Ghad's establishment file at the Shura Council, the party in charge of giving permits for establishing new political parties.
The Prosecution ordered to render Ayman Nour undergo a medical test by the forensic medicine and the prison's doctor after his complaint of violent treatment and the result was nothing.
The Prosecution permitted a visit to the charged Nour by the members of the PA Human Rights' Committee, a group of the National Council of Human Rights and the Board Council of the Journalist Syndicate.
The Prosecution sent all computers and compact discs that were seizured in Nour's house and office to the criminal lab for deciphering them, besides his own pistol and bullets.
Finally, the Prosecution warned of the provocations being led by some people whether inside or outside the country, a matter that might harm the sovereignty of Egypt and the independence of its fair judiciary system.
