Al-Assad Confers with Canada's Foreign Minister

Syria's President Bashar al-Assad conferred on Saturday with Canada's Foreign Minister Pierre Pettigrew on the situation in the region, the peace process and importance of the implementation of the international legitimacy resolutions.
Talks during the meeting dealt with Syria's position towards issues of the region, and importance of cementing bilateral relations between the two countries in all domains. Present at the meeting were Foreign Minister Farouq al-Shara, Deputy Foreign Minister Walid al- Moallem, Director of America Department at the Foreign Ministry as well Canada's ambassador in Damascus.
