Zabadani telephric: a new tourism project

Preparations are underway to execute a forty-five million dollars tourist project in the summer resort of Zabadani near Damascus.
The project includes the installation of a telephric, the first in Syria in addition to a motel, a restaurant and a playground.
The project gains special importance because Zabadani is witnessing intensive tourist activities because it attracts over a million tourists a year.
Investor, Ibrahim Dakdouk, said that he was negotiating a joint Austrian-German firm, Doppel-Mayr, to help in the execution of the project.
In a statement to Tishrin daily and published today, he indicated that the project will provide more than 350 jobs for engineers and technicians and over 1150 job opportunities for ordinary workers.
As for the telephric, Dakdouk said that its length will be 3500 meters and taking that Zabadani is above the sea level by 1680 meters into account, the telephric will be ideal.
