Abbas reaches an agreement with Palestinian groups to fix truce with Israelis
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 2/14/2005
Chairman of the Palestinian authority Mahmoud Abbas has reached an agreement to fix the interim truce with Israel following his meeting with leaders of the Islamic resistance ( Hamas) and the Islamic Jihad movements in Gaza.
Both Hamas and the Islamic Jihad announced their commitment to what they call calming down the situation in conclusion of the meetings of the leaderships of the two movements in Gaza with the chairman of the Palestinian authority Mahmoud Abbas.
The leading figure in Hamas movement Hamas al-Zahar said that the movement is committed to what has been agreed upon with President Abbas before Sharm al-Sheikh summit over the truce, considering that the final decision over the truce is based on the extent of Israel's abidance to halting the invasion of Palestinian cities and the assassination of activists and releasing of Palestinian prisoners from its jails.
