UAE, US free trade negotiations start in March

The first round of negotiations aiming to reach an agreement on free trade exchange between the USA and the United Arab Emirates will start in March.

The minister of financial and industrial affairs in the United Arab Emirates UAE Muhammad Khalfan Bin Kharbash announced on Friday that the negotiation council which was recently formed by the government will make the negotiations until an agreement is finalized.

Kharbash said, according to the UAE news agency, that the agreement will enable his country to join the largest consumer world market and the fastest growing. A matter which will enhance the opportunity of enhancing trade exchange between the two countries.

Kharbash, together with the minister of economy and planning Sheikha Lubna al-Qasimi presides over the negotiations council which was former recently by the government to negotiate the American side.

A similar meeting signed between the USA and Bahrain in September 2004 overwhelmed works of the GCC summit which was held in January this year.

A difference took place between Saudi Arabia and Bahrain over the Bahraini- American free trade agreement which was considered by Saudi Arabia as a constraint to economic cooperation projects among the Gulf member states.
