Islamic group accuses Kuwaiti of killing al-Anzi

An Islamic group defending Islamists issues on Wednesday accused the Kuwaiti security forces of "killing" the leader of "al-Jazeera lions cell" Amer Khaleif al-Anzi while he was in detention.
In a statements, the Islamic Monitor which has London as a headquarters said that al-Anzi "was killed under torture during his detention by the security forces in Kuwait and called for the formation of a neutral committee to investigate reasons behind the death.
The Monitor said, according to information closely connected to "security forces", that al-Anzi refused to give information about the chased youths that this resulted in "his killing under tough torture." The authorities in Kuwait demanded the need of approving the formation of a neutral committee from members of the parliament and the lawyers and doctors unions to find out reasons behind al-Anzi death during investigation.
For his part, the director of the public relations department at the ministry of the interior Adel al-Hasshash said that al-Anzi died on Tuesday evening because of a "low blood pressure" noting that he was earlier admitted to the military hospital after he felt breathing difficulties and he died there.
According to security sources al-Anzi health conditions worsened after the killing of several members of his cell, including his brother Nasser who was his first assistant, in clashes with the Kuwaiti security forces.
Al-Anzi has been in prison since January 31st when the security forces arrested him in a battle that lasted for 9 hours in Greater Mubarak quarters.
Seven persons were killed in this battle, five of them are suspects, one police man, one passerby citizen and several security men were injured.
