Workshop to develop civil society opens in Damascus

Head of the EU delegation in Damascus underlined on Wednesday that the EU is exploring new fields of cooperation through the initialing of the Syria-EU partnership accord among which is the civil society development program that is based on building institutions, training the civil society and the initiative fund to finance some activities.

A workshop on program to develop the civil society has started today as to boost needs of civil societies and develop its financial resources as well build its capabilities and train its staff. The legislative framework of these societies would be on the two-day meetings agenda mainly to modify its old aged laws since 1958.
