Palestinian groups doubt Israel's commitment to halting military operations
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 2/10/2005

The Palestinian groups took the position of doubting Israel's commitment to halting the military operations, as concluded in the Quartet summit in Sharm al-Sheikh.

In a statement, the Islamic resistance movement, Hamas, said that assessment for the Sharm al-Sheikh summit will be through actual implementation of its articles. The spokesman for the movement Mushir al-Masri said that it was agreed before the summit with the Palestinian Authority that consultation to be made beforehand with the Palestinian forces and groups before any announcement as such.

The Palestinian resistance groups consider that announcing halting of what is called violence only reflects the position of the Palestinian Authority, stressing that there is no truce with Israel without a real price, doubting the significance of the agreement.

For its part, the Palestine National Liberation movement ( Fatah) expressed optimism over the summit and indicated that halting the ceasefire is the beginning of positive changes.
