US Secretary Of State Gondoleezza Rice called on Tuesday the international community to work as to achieve the just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East and to revive peace process on all tracks including the Syrian and Lebanese.

"There are horizons to maintain peace in the Middle East, a matter that can make a significant opportunity for the international community to interfere and push the peace process on all tracks," Rice told a joint press conference with Italian counterpart Gianfranco Fini.

The US official said that peace accomplishment would guarantee return to the displaced and expelled who were obliged to live far away from their own land.

For his part, Italy's Foreign Minister said their should be a reviving of peace on the Syrian and Lebanese tracks as well their should be a revival of the Quartet committee in frame of making the comprehensive peace underlining that Italy and the EU would play a role as to achieve peace.

Regarding Iraq, Fini said the UN has to play a role at this stage and announced that he suggested holding of another international conference on Iraq as to monitor developments following the first stage of elections.

Rice depicted the Iraqi elections as positive saying the Iraqi people should be supported and called upon the UN to interfere in Iraq as to aid Iraqis, build their institutions and reconstruct Iraq.
