Tuesday's killing in Iraq toll 21 victims

The American army announced that the total number of the killed in the explosion which took place on Tuesday near the recruitment center of the Iraqi army members to the west of Baghdad increased to 21 while other 27 were injured in that explosion.

However, the Iraqi ministry of the interior announced a smaller number saying that 15 persons were killed and other 13 injured in the explosion which took place at the entrance of the military al-Muthanna airport to the west of Baghdad.

Two Iraqi soldiers were slightly injured following a bomb explosion on a highway side near the Technology Institute in Zeyounah quarters, according to the police.

To the west of the capital Baghdad, the leader of the democratic Ummah party, Mithal Allousi, survived an assassination attempt carried out by gunmen and resulted in killing two of his sons and his personal guard.

Another Iraqi soldier was killed and another injured in a second explosion targeting their vehicle on Monday evening in al-Dalou'eya area to the north of Baghdad.

In Musil to the north of Iraq, one Iraqi was killed and other six were injured including three women in a bomb explosion when a car was running in al-Sherqat area that affiliates to the governorate.

In another development, the Muslim Scholars Commission said on Tuesday that the American forces broke into the house of Sheikh Najam Naser, one of its members and the official of its branch in al-Dajil area in Salah Eddine governorate to the north of Baghdad and destroyed the whole furniture of the house before stealing the money of the family and confiscate his personal computer (PC).

The commission added that the American forces detained four of his brothers because he was not at home.

In Tikrit, the Iraqi police said it detained one person said to have relations with killing members of the Iraqi police in Musil.
