Egypt, Jordan return back ambassadors to Israel
Regional-Israel, Politics, 2/9/2005

At the beginning of the summit conference, the Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak commended what he called the positive spirit during Sharm al-Sheikh conference and their determination to implement reciprocated measures and take needed measures for building confidence and reviving hopes.

In the first political results of the summit at the regional level, the Egyptian foreign minister Ahmad Abu al-Gheit in a press conference in Sharm al-Sheikh announced that Egypt and Jordan decided to return back their ambassadors to Israel.

The Jordanian foreign minister Hani al-Malaqi confirmed this news in an interview with al-Jazeera TV, noting that the withdrawal of ambassadors did not lead to halting diplomatic contacts between Cairo, Amman and Tel Aviv.
