Morocco, Politics, 2/8/2005
Fadma Oulkhlef, Former detainee and spouse of Ahmed Assil who was executed after the events of March 1973, stated during the 5th session of public hearings into human rights violations committed in Morocco from 1956 to 1999, that she suffered awfully after the death of her husband and that she lived with her five children thanks to the donations of good-doers.
Fadma, who is among human rights violations victims in the region of Khenifra (Middle Atlas), recounted how she was cruelly tortured in the prison of Moulay Bouazza for two months.
In her testimony Sunday at the 5th session of the public hearings, organized by the Justice and Reconciliation Commission (IER), Fadma said that after her release, she and her children did not have the financial means to meet their needs since all that she owned was confiscated and her house was destroyed.
She added that her husband was arrested in March 1973 and was transferred to several detention centers before his execution in November.
