8,000 students of Alexandria university demonstrate against Sharon's visit

Some 8,000 students in the premises of Alexandria University demonstrated on Monday in protest of the visit held today by the Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon tp Sharm al-Sheikh to take part in its summit which Egypt had invited for.
The demonstrators chanted slogans "Sharon get out." On the other hand, the Egyptian journalists Union in a statement called for a sit-in at the headquarters of the trade union on Tuesday "in protest of Sharon's visit to Egypt." The statement described Sharm al-Sheikh summit as "a new step towards surrender and the liquidation of the Palestinian issue."
