Syria will import Golan apple to help Golanis
Syria, Local, 2/8/2005
Syria has decided to buy 10,000 tons of the Syrian Golan's apple, "due to the difficult economic circumstances of Syrian citizens in the occupied Golan heights and disability to market their products," an official source at the Foreign Ministry toild SANA on Monday.
The source added that the product is Syrian and owned by Syrians ... so we agree to market it through al-Qunaitera city, southwest of Syria crossing point under the supervision of the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force UNDOF.
The source stressed that our aim is to meet the dire needs of our Syrian people in the Golan who are suffering from the Israeli occupation and to help ease their suffering.
"Syria is keen on the interests of her people as a whole, particularly in such circumstances," the source concluded.
