Mark Otti: talks in Syria are constructive

European Union's Special Envoy to the Middle East Mark Otti on Monday described as very fruitful his Monday's talks with President Bashar al-Assad and Foreign Minister Farouk al-Shara.

Otti told reporters after meeting Minister al-Shara that Syria and Europe have many common interests and a lot of other issues on which both sides work to fulfill. The European official pointed out to the efforts being exerted by Syria towards the peace process and establishing stability in the region as well as its desire to discuss the issues of the region in an open-minded way.
