Kuwaiti security officer killed, more gunmen were arrested

One Kuwaiti security officer died in hospital because of wounds he got during armed clashes between the security forces and gunmen on Monday in al-Qarin area to the south of the Kuwaiti capital, according to the Kuwaiti TV.
Officer Hamad Majid al-Smhan was among three security men who were injured during the clashes which resulted in killing five gunmen including one Saudi and the detention of the leader of the group Amer al-Anzi who is believed to be a member of al-Qaida organization.
On the other hand, the Kuwaiti security forces arrested several suspects after the wave of the acts of violence took place recently in the country. Security sources said that the arrested gunmen admitted of planning to carry out suicide attacks against the American forces in Kuwait and the Kuwaiti security forces.
Also one security source stressed that the inspection and breaking in operation are continuous and that there are wanted persons whose names were mentioned during investigations believed to have links to al-Qaida organization.
