Morocco imported for 1.45 billion euros of crude oil in 2004

Morocco imported for 14,5 billion Dhs, around 1.45 billion euros, of crude oil in 2004 compared to 9.22 billion Dhs the previous year, said "l'Office des Changes", administration supervising currency rates and flows.

The 57.7% oil imports value rise is ascribed to the increase of oil prices in international markets, for the oil price rose 19.3 percent per ton, costing 2,384 Dhs per ton instead of 1,999 Dhs, according to the figures released by the office.

The office said that for December alone, the average price per ton increased 18.3 percent.

The total amount of oil imported stood at 6 million tons in 2004, compared to 4.61 million tons the previous year, which is a 32.2 percent increase.
