Royal Air Maroc to launch new Casablanca-Oran link
Morocco-Algeria, Business, 2/3/2005

Royal Air Maroc (RAM) will inaugurate, Thursday, a new air link between Morocco and Algeria, connecting Casablanca and Oran (Western Algeria) twice a week.

Several Algerian businessmen, as well as many travel agencies and journalists will take part in the inaugural trip. RAM director in Algeria, Azel Arabe Benseghir, said the new link was established due to the strong presence of Moroccan expatriates in western Algeria (accounting for 50,000).

The new link, he pointed out, will also meet the needs of Algerian and foreign customers in western Algeria, as well as the Algerian demand for flights to north America and Canada. The Algerian airline company, he explained, does not have air links with Canada at present.

RAM currently serves three weekly flights between Casablanca and Algiers. From November 2003 to October 2004, it transported 36,000 passengers between these two destinations.
