Syria removes tarrifs on Lebanese at border points

Syria's Minister of Transport Makram Obeid depicted on Wednesday the cabinet endorsement on the draft law that exempts all Lebanese from tariffs on Syrian border points and entrances as important.
"The draft law exempts all Lebanese fully from all tariffs on the Syrian border points with all neighboring countriesÉ Lebanese cars are to be treated as Syrians when crossing the Syrian territories and any breach will be paid for by Syrian pounds not dollars," the minister said.
Commenting on the legislative decree to ratify agreement on mechanism of the Arab collective negotiation, the minister said it was the first of its kind regarding Arab negotiation, noting that it deals with aviation issues with other regional blocks.
Obeid expressed optimism over the ratification of the agreement to liberalize Arab air transport saying it would meet a positive response from Arab citizens since travel tickets prices would be lowered, tourism ought to increase and Arab trade would be boosted.
