Xerox president reviews cooperation, investments with prime minister

Egypt's Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif met Tuesday with Jan Machon, President of Xerox Europe.
Communications and Information Technology Minister Tarek Kamel, who attended the meeting, said talks addressed promoting cooperation between Egypt and the information giant.
The two sides also discussed cooperation between Egyptian companies and Xerox in remote-learning projects, the use of IT in university and school education as well as introducing internet in three thousand schools.
Kamel said that talks took up increasing Xerox's investments in the country, which currently stands at $75 million.
Machon, for his part, said that Xerox intends to expand its branches in Egypt to cover a number of governorates as well as to carry out several new IT projects.
He added that Xerox will set up regional center in Cairo to train Egyptian, Arab and African technical cadres on the use of IT.
