Al-Moallem, Hammoud on Lebanese - Syrian relations

Lebanese Foreign Minister Mahmoud Hammoud announced that Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister's current visit to Lebanon comes within the framework of coordination and cooperation policy between Foreign Ministries in both countries.
In a statement to journalists following his meeting with Syrian Deputy Foreign minister Waleed al-Moallem on Tuesday, Hammoud pointed out that talks dealt with the best means for tackling the latest developments and changes.
He also underlined importance of cooperation between Syria and Lebanon, asserting his country's rejection of settling the Palestinians in Lebanon and keenness on restoring the occupied Shabaa farms.
Hammoud hailed Syria's key role in facing partition and dismantling militias to achieve stability and security in Lebanon, stressing that al-Taef and the cooperation, coordination and fraternity agreements between the two states are the reference for all related issues.
For his part, al-Moallem depicted as strong the Syrian-Lebanese relations, asserting Syria's absolute support to Lebanon's firm principles. He also underscored the importance of the Syrian-Lebanese Committee's meetings in expanding prospects of cooperation between both countries in all fields.
