Muslim Scholars commission doubts the legitimacy of the elections
Iraq, Politics, 2/1/2005
The Muslims scholars commission in Iraq doubted the legitimacy of the elections. Its spokesman Sheikh Omar Ragheb said that the rate of participation was not the same as expected on the media and that complete areas in Baghdad, Deyali, Musil and Samera and al-Ramadi did not open voting centers.
He stressed that the commission would not have objected to the elections had it was not been made "under occupation" whether the winners are a Sunni, a Shiite or a Kurdish, considering that its rejection of the foreign existence receives more support in the country.
