American copter crashes, five US soldiers killed

The American army said that one of its helicopters crashed in southern west Baghdad on Friday. No information came immediately on the victims.

A spokesman for the American army said that the ( O.H- 5- QWA) plane, usually carries a crew of two or three persons crashed on Friday evening.

No information was available immediately on whether the crash of the plane was a result of an attack, noting that investigations still continue.

Meantime, gunmen escalated their attacks and killed five American soldiers in three different attacks in the north and south Baghdad, thereby the number of killed men in the lines of the American forces reached 1411 since the beginning of the war in Iraq in March 2002.
