Hamas wins major seats of municipality seats

The Palestine elections committee announced that the Islamic resistance movement ( Hamas) won with a great majority the municipal elections in Gaza.
Preliminary results reported that Hamas won 12 out of 13 seats in Beit Hanoun and 11 out of 13 seats in al-Zawabedah and 14 out of 15 seats in Deir al-Balah and 11 seats in Khuza'a in Khan Younis and 10 out of 13 in Bani Suheila in Khan Younis.
Hamas also won 10 seats out of 11 in al-Shioukah in Rafah and three out of 13 in al-Naser in Rafah and two out of nine seats in Gaza city and the all 9 seats in al-Masdar in deir al-Balah.
Gaza elections are considered the second round of the municipal elections which the Palestinian authority ordered to carry out. Hamas said it won the first phase of the elections which were held on December 23, 2004.
