Lahoud stresses unity of Lebanese people

Lebanese President Emile Lahoud said Thursday that the strategy Lebanon has adopted many years ago had protected it in the face of the developments occurred in the region.
"There will be no salvation in Lebanon except through unity and understanding of the Lebanese people," President Lahoud told political figures during a meeting in Beirut.
"Lebanon will continue calling for legitimate rights, not yielding to pressures which aim at changing the national firm stances which enabled Lebanon to liberate the biggest part of its land," he added.
He said that Lebanese government gives most interest to tackle social and economic affairs in the upcoming stage.
