Ahmed Abul Gheit :SPLM leader welcomes Egypt's role in Sudan 's peace

Egypt's Foreign Minister Ahmad Abul- Gheit denied press reports purporting that the Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM)'s leaders John Garang turned down Egypt's bid to contribute to the proposed international peace keeping force to monitor the peace deal SPLM and the Khartoum government signed recently.
"Garang welcomed Egypt's role in boosting the peace and the development efforts in Sudan," Abul- Gheit said. He added that Garang informed UN envoy in Sudan Jan pronk of his stance.
