Saudi Arabia hosts a conference for fighting terrorism next month

The Saudi King Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz and Crown Prince Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz have called for international cooperation to fight terrorism. They confirmed in this regard, al-Riyadh's hosting of an international conference to fight terrorism to be held on February 5 through 7.
King Fahd and Crown Prince Abdullah explained in a joint speech they addressed to the pilgrims and broadcast by the Saudi news agency that "fighting terrorism" requires an international cooperation in order not to enable "terrorist groups" from investing lands of countries where they do live and using them as a starting point for its activities.
They also called on all "peace loving countries" to adopt a comprehensive work plan in the course of international resolutions" guaranteeing the elimination of terrorism and ensuring the life of innocents and maintain's countries sovereignty, security and stability." Saudi Arabia had announced the convening of this conference in September 2004. The Saudi foreign minister Prince Saud al-Faisal said by the end of November 2004 that this conference will be held at the level of security experts and officials in fighting terrorism.
Riyadh's call to convene an international conference to fight terrorism came after Saudi Arabia had witnessed a series of attacks and explosions attributed to al-Qaida organization and resulted in killing 100 persons and hundreds injured sine May 2003.
